Michaela and Michael - Wedding

This past weekend, I was lucky to be able to cover Michaela and Michael’s wedding in LBI (Long Beach Island). They have a great house rented for the entire event. The night before the wedding, the had a formal cocktail dinner for the guests that arrived into town early. The day of the wedding, started out slightly cloudy, but the sun eventually broke through. The entire group of guests were extremely kind and LOTS of fun.

Here is a preview of my weekend of work fun.

Michael Campbell - Erik, great photos here. I love the style, those fishing pole images you got are way fun. Beautiful shots, I'm sure the couple will love all of them!September 28, 2008 - 4:40 pm

Nicole Polk - oooh! i love funnel cake! yummy!September 23, 2008 - 1:54 pm

Michaela "the bride" Potter - Erik - We are more than thrilled with how you captured our event. It definitely was not your typical wedding and we didn't want the typical wedding photos. You seemed to know exactly what we wanted without having to tell you. The preview of the photos at our BBQ went over great and we can't wait to share them with everyone again. Cheers, Michaela and MichaelSeptember 23, 2008 - 9:31 am

Melissa and Brian - 2nd Shoot

I was recently working with Cyndi Klose to photograph Melissa and Brian’s wedding in Harrisburg.  I was hanging out with the guys, covering them until the start of the wedding.  The wedding was just down the street of the PA state capital building (made for a great backdrop).  It was a great group of family and friends the whole day and the rain held out the entire night!  The reception was at the lovely Milestone Inn in Harrisburg.

Extra Credit :)

So outside of weddings, I like to stay busy and keep ideas fresh in my head for new picture ideas - kinda some personal “extra credit”.  Just a few days ago, a few other wedding photographer friends and I got together and arranged a session with some local models.

Not being under the pressure of a wedding day, the point of this exercise was to try out some different ideas and also to try some new equipment out.  The new and amazing Canon 200mm f/2.0 IS lens was on loan from Canon and I got to play with review it.  My personal short use review of it… it is a wonderful lens and I want one.

(update):  Thanks also goes out to Craig Single (Craig’s shots) for letting me try the sweet lens out while he had it on loan.  My good friends, Stacie Lech (Stacie’s blog) and Mark Gardner (Mark’s shots) were also in attendance.

Karen and David - 2nd Shoot

This past weekend I got the chance to shoot with my good friend, Mark Gardner (www.markgardnerphotography.com).  We were photographing Karen and David’s wedding in Baltimore, MD.  After the ceremony, we had a great time during the portrait session, right around the Baltimore Aquarium.  The reception was on the 21st floor of the World Trade Center.  (quite the view!)

Here are a few I caught during the day…

… I told you it was a cool view :)

Mark Gardner - Erik- Great stuff man, glad you were available to help us out. Good times, great images! -MarkAugust 29, 2008 - 1:44 am
